JJ
Valaya Launches His Spring Summer 2002 Collection
New Delhi, March 6 2002. JJ Valaya, India’s leading couturier
and the first-ever Swarovski Brand Ambassador, held his Spring Summer
2002 show today at the Vatika First India Place, Sushant Lok.
In his signature style of elegant grandeur,
JJ Valaya presented yet another collection of superbly designed
and brilliantly styled garments, taking inspiration from the bounty
of spring. The show began with a preview of the Studio Valaya collection,
the Diffusion label from The House of Valaya, and was followed with
the JJ Valaya Couture line.
The four collections beautifully translated
the brilliance of Mother Nature in her kaleidoscopic splendor.
Speaking at the event, JJ Valaya remarked,”
Spring offers any artiste an unparalleled platform for inspiration.
My collections for the season imbibe the gentle and refreshing beauty
that the season brings with it; and I have used different mediums
to highlight the garments. While the silk collection showcases the
radiance of colour through block printing and sequins, the chiffon
collection offers a delicate respite through its pastel colour-tones
and delicate resham work.”
“Glitter rules the roost this season
and Swarovski Components offer a sophisticated medium to showcase
this brilliant versatility through a collection showcasing specially
designed transfer motifs from Swarovski, developed to highlight
the traditional forms of Indian embroidery,” he added.
JJ
Valaya is known the world over for his intricate embroidery and
painstaking eye for detail. With showings across the world, Mr.
Valaya has managed to reach out to the fashion conscious through
his impeccable styling and the distinguished elegance of his garments,
which brilliantly combine the opulence of the East with the understated
elegance of the West.
