JJ Valaya is India’s leading couturier and is well known for his intricate embroidery and painstaking eye for detail. With showings across the world, Valaya has managed to reach out to the fashion conscious through his impeccable styling and the distinguished elegance of his garments, which brilliantly combine the opulence of the East with the elegance of the West.

Brand Ambassador for Swarovski in India, Valaya’s designs highlight the traditional forms of Indian embroidery effectively with Swarovski crystals.

The House of Valaya is one of the country’s pioneer fashion houses and was established in the early years of the Indian fashion movement. Its first label, JJ Valaya is the couture label (established in 1992), of which the trousseaux line is considered the best-known statement and forms the majority of the collection. The objective is not to create a mere garment but an heirloom, which can be passed down from generation to generation. The opulence and grandeur of royalty is interwoven into each timeless piece.

After the JJ Valaya label established itself as one of India’s leading and more respected Couture labels, there was felt a growing need for a simpler line with a more wearable and accessible look. JJ Valaya was the first Indian designer to branch out into the Diffusion market under a separate label. Thus, in 1999 was born Studio Valaya. Whereas the JJ Valaya Couture collection continues to define the trends for the season, the Diffusion line evolves the same trends into a watered down, cleaner and more affordable look.

Both labels cater to the confident, sophisticated woman and man who believe in timeless yet contemporary elegance. The collections include eminently wearable Indian as well as fusion designs.

A third label, Valaya Home, caters to areas akin to fine design including home furnishings and signature tapestries.
